Levels Explained
What does each level actually mean?
Our levels are not just about school year. They reflect how your child thinks, how ready they are to be challenged, and how they learn best. Every student at Inquisitute is stretched and challenged, no matter which level they are in.
What changes is the approach. At the earlier levels, we show students what great thinking looks like and build their curiosity from the ground up. As they grow, we step back and help them ask better questions, challenge their own thinking, and make stronger decisions for themselves.
Foundations
Years 1 to 2
This is where curiosity is born. We show your child what great thinking looks like, model how to ask good questions, and make learning feel like the best part of their week. Every session builds confidence so they are ready and eager for what comes next.
Risers
Years 3 to 4
Your child is starting to find their own voice. We guide them to notice their thinking, try new strategies, and begin asking why, not just what. We still show them the way, but now we invite them into the process too.
Strivers
Years 5 to 6
Your child is ready to be stretched beyond what they thought possible. We challenge how they think, not just what they know. They start to question ideas, weigh up options, and tackle problems they have never seen before, including scholarship and selective entry level challenges.
Thrivers
Years 7 to 8
At this level, we step back more and push your child to lead their own thinking. They learn to construct strong arguments, challenge their own assumptions, and back themselves when things get difficult. We are the guide. They are doing the work.
Drivers
Years 9 to 10
Your child is making real decisions about their future and we treat them that way. We help them think strategically, advocate for their own learning, and perform under pressure. By the time they reach senior school, they know exactly how they learn best and how to use it.
Scholars
VCE
VCE is a different game entirely and your child deserves targeted, expert support. Scholars receive focused coaching on their specific subjects, with a sharp eye on study scores, SAC performance, and exam readiness. We meet them where they are and help them get the results they are capable of.
